Fulton County Fair features horse show, rodeo

The Fulton County Fair will feature four nights of events for horse lovers again this year. A new event has been added for Monday, July 24. Hall Rodeo LLC will have a Roping in the Fairgrounds Arena at 8:00 p.m. The competition will be ten head round robin with a sixty percent payback. A negative Coggins Test is required. The annual Fair Horse Show is sponsored by Shaver Plumbing and Hardware will be held Tuesday night, July 25 in the fairgrounds arena. The horse show will get underway at 6:00 p.m. It will feature halter classes, showmanship, western pleasure, lead-line class for youth age 5 and under, trail classes and barrel racing and pole bending. The horse show is open to youth and adults. Contact the Fulton County Fair Office for more information on entries.

A new Horse Show Queen, Junior Horse Show Queen, and Horse Show Princess will be named during the horse show. Contestants are reminded that no horses are allowed on the fairgrounds until 4:00 p.m. on the day of the show and Coggins papers will be checked before they enter the grounds.

Hall Rodeo, LLC will produce two nights of rodeo action on July 26 and 27. The rodeo will start at 8:00 each night. Cline Hall is one of the top rodeo producers in the area and will have a fast paced show for rodeo fans. Call Hall at 501-412-3644 to enter and for more information. The Wednesday night rodeo is sponsored by FNBC Community Bankers, CenturyLink and Freedom Ford and the Thursday night event is sponsored by the Bank of Salem, CenturyLink and Freedom Ford.

The fair will run July 24 – 29 with events throughout the week. Admission is free to all fair events with the exception of the carnival rides and games with a paid gate admission.
