58-year-old Diana Higgins of Marion County, who faces charges in Boone County for endangering the welfare of an incompetent person in the first degree, has entered a not guilty plea. She is ordered to appear before Circuit Judge John Putman on August 25th. According to Court records, Darren O’Quinn, of Little Rock, is listed as Higgins’ attorney.

Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore says on February ninth the Boone County Sheriff’s Department was contacted regarding a 14-year-old child, who requires total care and is dependent on a chronic ventilator, who was possibly being abused by one of the child’s in-home care nurses. An investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department resulted in felony charges filed against Higgins.

She was arrested later at the Boone County Sheriff’s Department after turning herself in on an outstanding warrant. She was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
