Mountain Home man arrested for theft from employer, co-worker

A Mountain Home man, 39-year-old Darrin Bookout, was arrested by Mountain Home Police Wednesday on a charge of felony fraudulent use of his employer’s credit card. He was booked into the Baxter County Jail on a $2,500 bond and released the same day.According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel, Bookout’s employer reported he used the company’s credit card without authorization seven times between the months of April and June. The charges totaled $172.25. Bookout allegedly admitted to using the credit card without authorization.

In a separate incident in late June, Mountain Home PD received a report of a vehicle break-in and theft of property. It was reported Bookout entered a co-worker’s vehicle and stole a wallet. The company’s security video showed him entering the victim’s vehicle. When he was questioned about the incident, he allegedly admitted to entering the vehicle but denied the theft.

He faces a misdemeanor charge of theft of property and is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
