Bakersfield school district officials are hurriedly preparing for the opening of the school year in less than two weeks. But this year, extra preparation is needed as a result of the historic flooding that hit southern Missouri in late April.Bakersfield School District Superintendent Amy Britt says the school’s softball/baseball complex was virtually destroyed by the flooding.
