Restoration work from flood damage continues in Bakersfield

Bakersfield school district officials are hurriedly preparing for the opening of the school year in less than two weeks. But this year, extra preparation is needed as a result of the historic flooding that hit southern Missouri in late April.Bakersfield School District Superintendent Amy Britt says the school’s softball/baseball complex was virtually destroyed by the flooding.

Britt says work continues to restore the walking bridge that connects the pavilion area with the softball/baseball complex.
