The Mountain Home 12-year-old baseball team won its bracket opener Sunday evening in the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series at Branson. The local All-Stars defeated North Platte, Nebraska, by a final of 7-5 at the Ballparks of America. Mountain Home is now 2-2 in the tournament.
Mountain Home continues bracket play Monday morning as their next opponent will be Waite Park, Minnesota. Waite Park came into the World Series as the Midwest Plains regional champions, and they’re the number two seed of U.S. Group B after going 2-1.
The first pitch on Boston Field is scheduled for ten a.m.
