Mountain Home Public Schools back in Session Tuesday

Mountain Home Public Schools will be back in session Tuesday ready to continue with the district's strategic plan, developed last year, focusing on the areas of academics, technology, communications, community and culture, as well as financial stability. Superintendent of Mountain Home Public Schools Dr. Jake Long says he's excited about the new school year and looks forward to furthering the district's mission which includes focusing on a continual review of curriculum, often referred to as vertical alignment.

Dr. Long says using the method of professional learning communities should increase collaboration between all of the schools in the district.

Long says area principals will also take up the concept to ensure district proccesses, student handbooks, rules and procedures are aligned to be more parent friendly when transitioning from one campus to the other.

Long says he hopes the community wide desire to continue moving forward with improvements in the public school system, Baxter Regional Medical Center, ASU Mountain Home, and the Area Chamber of Commerce will make Mountain Home an even better place to live.
