(AP) – A federal appeals court has voided an order that
would’ve required Texas oil and gas company Exxon Mobil to revise its pipeline-safety procedures after a 2013 oil spill in Arkansas. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the federal Pipeline and HazardousMaterials Safety Administration issued the order in 2015. It could’ve applied to more than 1,000 miles of the company’s pipelines. On Monday, a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans vacated the order resulting from the Pegasus pipeline oil spill in Mayflower. The panel also voided over $1,630,000 of the more than $2,630,000 safety administration had fined Exxon Mobil.

The safety administration didn’t immediately respond to the newspaper’s request for comment.
