A Gassville man, 53-year-old James Cortney Snedecor, was arrested on felony drug charges Wednesday afternoon after investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections conducted a probation home visit at his residence at 6343 Highway 62 West. Snedecor is currently being held in the Baxter County Jail on a $5,000 bond on the new charges, however he is being held without bond for the probation violation.

He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer his new charges in September.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, during the course of the home visit, officers found approximately one-half gram of methamphetamine and various articles of drug paraphernalia including scales and smoking pipes.

He has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation hold for other agencies for a Marion County bench warrant.

Snedecor has five previous bookings in the Baxter County Detention Center, including prior drug offenses.
