(AP) – A city in western Arkansas may be getting a new bike
and skate park on its riverfront. The Times Record reports the U.S. Marshals Museum Foundation has offered to sell about 3.5 acres of property to Fort Smith. The Central Business Improvement District Commission discussed the possibility of developing the land into a bike and skate park Tuesday.

City Administrator Carl Geffken says the land is being sold for $200,000, which can be paid over two years.

The property had previously been slated for the location of the museum. The museum board opted for a 16-acre property further north in 2015 after realizing it needed more space.

Geffken says the city’s Board of Directors may vote on the land deal in the next two weeks.
