Cardinals lose rain-delayed game to Pirates

PITTSBURGH (AP)   Adam Frazier homered, doubled and singled as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-4 Saturday to end a six-game losing streak. The Cardinals scored 11 runs in each of their two wins to start this series. Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer in the eighth and Jose Martinez homered in the ninth.

The two teams will wrap up the four-game set as they meet on Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the inaugural MLB Little League Classic. St. Louis will try again to clinch the series behind Mike Leake, and Pittsburgh will look for the split as they send Ivan Nova to the mound. The first pitch is scheduled for six p.m. Sunday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM. The Ameren Pregame Show begins at 5:05.
