Volleyball, tennis and softball make up the local Monday schedule.

It’s the season opener for Mountain Home volleyball as three Lady Bomber teams, including the varsity squad, will begin the 2017 campaign at West Plains.
Mountain Home’s high school team is coming off a season in which they finished 21-11. The Lady Bombers ended last year in the first round of the Class 6A State Tournament after getting upset by Sheridan. Mountain Home head coach Lindsey Leonard says her team wants to make sure that doesn’t happen again this year.

The freshmen match begins at five p.m. followed by the junior varsity and varsity matches.
Elsewhere, Cotter hosts Highland, Salem travels to Walnut Ridge, Bergman makes the trip to Elkins, and Valley Springs entertains Eureka Springs.

The Mountain Home tennis teams begin their campaign with the Lady Bombers coming in as defending state champions. Both teams will be on the road as they meet Cabot.
Mountain Home head coach David Moore says both teams have players returning with experience including the girls bringing back last year’s individual state champion in Class 6A.
