Hope for Horses Festival set for mid-September

A local charity is preparing for a big fundraiser next month. The annual Hope for Horses Festival is scheduled for September 16th at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Summit.

Hope for Horses co-founder Carla Faison says several activities are planned for this year’s festival.

In addition, local band “Rio” will provide entertainment for the visitors, and their music CDs will be available for purchase for ten dollars each.

Several prizes given away throughout the day, and Faison says attendees will need to hang on their ticket for drawings at the prize booth.

Hope for Horses is a 501(c)(3) charity celebrating its fourth year in Marion County, and its purpose is to help horsed in need. Hope for Horses works cooperatively with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to find forever homes for horses in Marion County who would’ve slipped through the cracks. Faison says all proceeds from the festival will benefit the charity.

The Hope for Horses Festival has openings for vendors. A 10×10 booth space rental is $15, and vendors can set up September 15th between 3:00 and 7:00.
