Governor Asa Hutchinson announces two local appointments

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Monday the appointments of two Twin Lakes Area residents, Steven Smith and Van Nowlin of Mountain Home.Smith was reappointed to serve on the Arkansas Lifetime Individual Verification Effort Corporation Board of Directors. The board provides services to verify eligibility under the Lifeline Assistance Program. The program provides discounts to low-income households for landline and wireless telephone service and equipment.

His term will expire March 30, 2020.

Nowlin was appointed to the Interagency Task Force for the Implementation of Criminal Justice Prevention Initiatives. The interagency task force was established by Act 423, which in part, established the Crisis Stabilization Units pilot program for mental and behavioral health issues.

Nowlin’s term is set to expire July 1, 2019.
