Thursday schedule includes benefit game for MH football

Football, volleyball, tennis, softball and baseball make up the local Thursday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School football team will be in front of the home crowd for one more preseason tune-up. The Bombers will welcome Blytheville to the Twin Lakes Area for benefit action.
Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says facing the Chickasaws’ speed will help prepare his team for the regular season.

Mattox goes on to say it’s important for his team to get acclimated to game situations under the lights and be ready for the season opener in eight days.

The varsity teams will kick off at Bomber Stadium at 6:30 for a half of action followed by a half for the junior varsity. Admission for all attendees will be four dollars, and 80 percent of the gate will go to the Arkansas Activities Association office in North Little Rock for the Catastrophe Fund. No passes, other than those issued by the AAA, will be accpeted at the gate.

It’s another road trip for the Mountain Home High School volleyball team as they play at Harrison. The freshmen match begins at 4:30 followed by the junior varsity and varsity matches.
In other high school volleyball, Cotter travels to Flippin, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Marshall, Salem heads to Highland, Bergman hosts Green Forest, and Valley Springs entertains Clinton.

Mountain Home’s tennis squads will be on the road as they will be matched up with Conway. Action starts at 3:30 on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.

In high school softball, Bakersfield travels to Seymour, and Dora makes the trip to Ava.

In fall baseball, Dora is home against Licking.
