Football, volleyball, cross country, softball and baseball make up the local Thursday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School volleyball continues 6A/5A-2 district play as they’re on the road to go up against Vilonia. The junior varsity match begins at 4:30 followed by the varsity match.
Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Highland, Flippin hosts Clinton, Yellville-Summit entertains Valley Springs, Salem makes the trip to Cave City, and Marshall is home against Bergman.

The junior high football season gets underway, and two of Mountain Home’s teams will start the year on the road as they compete against Harrison. Mountain Home’s freshmen team is coming off a season in which they went undefeated as eighth graders, and this year’s eighth grade squad was 9-1 as seventh graders. Junior Bombers’ head coach Philip Taylor looks to see both teams continue to improve as they grow.
