Summit woman awakes to find intruder standing by bed

A Marion County woman has filed a stalking report with law enforcement after awaking and finding an intruder, later identified as 35-year-old Brandon Jenkins of Summit, standing by her bed staring at her.According to the arrest affidavit, the woman and her husband reported the incident to the Marion County Sheriff's Office August 27. The woman says when she awoke in their residence along North Reola in Summit, Jenkins, wearing a red bandana, was standing over her. She described Jenkins to authorities, including a "huge spider tattoo" on his head.

The woman said Jenkins did not have permission to be in her home, and she was scared for her life. She says his actions have made her and her 10-year-old daughter afraid to be alone at home in her husband's absence. She alleges Jenkins has made sexually explicit comments to her outside the home in her daughter's presence, as well as comments to her husband about her.

The couple told authorities they have found bullet holes in their bedroom and bathroom windows they suspect Jenkins having placed there. The woman said she has observed a chair and a brick next to the back fence of the couple's property she believes Jenkins has used to access their residence on other occasions.

Jenkins was booked into the Marion County Detention Center Monday evening on a felony charge of residential burglary and two misdemeanor counts. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Marion County Circuit Court on September 20.
