It’s week three for high school football in Arkansas signifying the end of non-conference play for the regular season, and Mountain Home returns to the home turf. The Bombers’ last opponent before they begin the 6A-East will be Batesville.
Mountain Home is currently 0-2 on the season after losing to Nettleton 42-0 last week in Jonesboro. Batesville is also looking for its first win of the year after losing to Searcy last Friday, but Bombers’ head coach Bryan Mattox says the Pioneers’ 0-2 record shouldn’t fool anyone.

Kickoff at Bomber Stadium is scheduled for seven p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with Arkansas High School Gameday.

Yellville-Summit will wrap up its two-game road stand this week. The Panthers’ non-conference finale will be against Atkins.
Yellville-Summit brings an 0-2 record into the game. The Panthers’ lead slipped away in the second half last week, and they suffered a four-point loss at Salem. Atkins has a mark of 1-1. The Red Devils beat up on Bigelow a week ago.
Yellville-Summit head coach Lucas Morris says a win at Atkins can give the Panthers momentum heading into conference action.
