MH girls finish 3rd, boys 8th in Jonesboro golf tourney

The Mountain Home High School golf teams spent the weekend in Jonesboro as they took part in the Hurricane Classic at Ridgepointe Country Club.

The Lady Bombers finished third in the team standings with a total of 276. Paragould won the girls’ side at 250, and Searcy was second at 259. There was a tie for the medalist honor as Lauren Bowles of Searcy and Madison Holmes of Paragould each shot an 82. Kenzie Collins was Mountain Home’s top golfer with an 85, and Sydney Czanstkowski finished with an 86.

The Bomber boys ended up in eighth place as a team with a total of 363. Jonesboro was the overall winner at 287, and the Hurricane’s Brett Daughdrill was the individual medalist with a 69 as he edged out Texarkana’s Ethan Eppinette by one stroke. Gage McClain had Mountain Home’s best performance with an 82, and Bradley Ludwig had an 84.
