Intruder makes court appearance

Dale Costello of Mountain Home, who was arrested when residents of a home along Rodeo Court returned after a weekend away and allegedly found Costello sleeping on their couch, was in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered a not guilty plea to charges against him stemming from the August 13th incident.He is charged with breaking or entering, criminal tresspass, theft of property and criminal mischief.

When officers arrived, they reported finding the 51-year-old Costello wrapped in a blanket belonging to the homeowners and wearing nothing but his underwear.

In the probable cause affidavit, the officers reported that Costello apparently entered the residence by breaking a dining room window. Costello allegedly told officers he broke into the house because he was thirsty and “someone was out to get him”.

The homeowners told officers that various items of food and drink were missing.

Costello was ordered to reappear in Circuit Court January 18th.
