Two people who were found living in a house without permission were in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered not guilty pleas to charges stemming from the incident including residential burglary.

Christopher and Sara Sanders were arrested late last month when Baxter County Deputies responded to a report of suspected trespassers at a residence along Springlake Drive.

The owner of the home was out of town at the time and confirmed that no one had permission to be in the residence.

Deputies made contact with the 34-year-old Christopher and 36-year-old Sara Sanders. During the investigation, it was determined that Christopher Sanders did know the son of the home owner and had even spent the night at the residence once about 10 months ago. The couple admitted to deputies that they did not have permission to be in the house and that they had gained entry through a back door.

A search of the residence uncovered approximately 8.1 grams of marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia. The deputies reported it appeared the couple had been living in the house for a number of days.

Sara Sanders was ordered to reappear in court September 21st and Christopher Sanders on January 18th.
