Bombers lose conference opener at Jonesboro

The Mountain Home High School football team opened 6A-East Conference play Friday night at Jonesboro with a loss. Brad Haworth has the details.

Jonesboro built a four touchdown lead at halftime and went on to beat the Bombers 42-7. The Hurricane got the scoring started with a 14 yard run by Ji’Marcus Bibbs on their second possession. Jonesboro would also score on their next three possesions. AJ Aycock hit Tate Lutes with a 45 yard touchdown pass, Aycock then hooked up with Jeremiah Tobar on a 10 yard scoring pass and Daniel Johneson scored on a four yard run to make it 28-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Daniel Johnson scored a pair of touchdowns and Tyson Willians added a score.

The Bombers got on the board late in the fourth quarter when quarterback Isaac McKay broke free for a 49 yard touchdown run.

Jonesboro improves to 3-1 on the season. The Bombers fall to 0-4. Mountain Home hosts Pine Bluff next Friday night.
