Anthony Tompkins of Mountain Home, a convicted sex offender, admitted he had violated registration requirements and was put on probation for five years during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 35-year-old Tompkins was convicted in 2002 of ongoing sexual contact with two female acquaintances — then ages 9 and 11. Tompkins and the victims were living in the same house at the time, according to the list of sex offenders maintained by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.

In late September last year, Mountain Home Police received information that Tompkins was no longer living at his registered address, and he had failed to report an address change to law enforcement.

Officers determined Tompkins was then living at a local motel. He was arrested and charged with failure to meet registration requirements.

Registered sex offenders are required not only to notify law enforcement of any changes in their living arrangements, but also to register in person every six months.
