Bruce Chandler is ASUMH’s Academic All-Star

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home’s Academic All-Star for 2017 is student Bruce Chandler of Calico Rock.

Chandler is pursuing an Associate of General Studies degree, with plans to attend Arkansas Tech University in the fall of 2018 to seek a degree and career in engineering. At Calico Rock High School (CRHS), Chandler was an active member of the Calico Rock basketball team, Senior Beta, Future Business Leaders of America, Math and Science Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. He was also voted senior class president.

At ASUMH, Chandler has received numerous awards. He received the World History Academic Achiever Award in 2016 and attended the Sixth District Leadership Conference for Computer Problem Solving. He was nominated for the Academic All-Star distinction by ASUMH instructors Dr. Terri Anderson and Dr. Cynthia Crisel.

ASUMH and Arkansas Community Colleges present the Arkansas’ Two-Year Colleges Academic All-Star scholarship program annually. The purpose of the program is to recognize the scholarly and service achievements of Arkansas’ two-year college students.

Chandler will be recognized October 17 at the All-Star awards brunch held in Little Rock during the 29th annual conference of Arkansas Community Colleges.
