MH begins hosting Class 6A State Girls’ Golf Tournament

Football, volleyball, golf and softball make up the local Monday schedule.

It’s a big day for high school girls’ golf in Mountain Home. The Lady Bombers are the designated host team as the Class 6A State Tournament begins at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
Several girls’ golf teams will gather at Big Creek for this two-day event, and Mountain Home head coach Dell Leonard says his Lady Bombers are ready to get out there and take full advantage of having the home course.

Monday’s tee time is scheduled for noon.

The Mountain Home High School volleyball team will step out of district play as they’ll be in Paragould to face Greene County Tech. The junior varsity match begins at four p.m. followed by the varsity match.
Elsewhere, Cotter hosts Izard County, Yellville-Summit travels to Green Forest, and Valley Springs entertains Elkins.
Two of Mountain Home’s junior high squads will also be on the road as they take on Ava. The seventh grade match begins at 5:30, and the eighth grade match will follow.

Mountain Home will have a pair of seventh grade football games at Bomber Stadium as they meet Siloam Springs. The first game kicks off at 4:30.

In high school softball, Gainesville is home against Mansfield.
