NASA astrophysicist, MHHS alum to begin Gaston Lecture Series

A Mountain Home High School alum who works for NASA will open the Gaston Lecture Series at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home for the 2017-2018 school year. Dr. Jennifer Wiseman will speak Monday evening at six at the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center in the Vada Sheid Community Development Center.

Wiseman is a senior astrophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, where she serves as the senior project scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope. Wiseman graduated from Mountain Home in 1983. As an undergraduate studying physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, she discovered the comet 114P/Wiseman-Skiff. Wiseman later earned a Ph.D. in astronomy at Harvard University.

There is no admission charge to attend the Gaston Lecture Series programs, and no tickets are required.
