The Mountain Home Kiwanis Safety Fair is scheduled to take place Saturday morning from 10:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon at the L.C. Sammons Youth Center at Cooper Park. Free hot dogs, snow cones and popcorn will be served and participants can register for prizes including a bicycle and helmet giveaway. There is also a rumor circulating there may be a couple of superheros in attendance as well.

Kiwanis Club member and event coordinator Joan Young says area youth are invited to bring their bicycle and ride through the Baxter Regional Medical Center safety course, then check out one of their ambulances. The Air Evac helicopter will be on site, and Young says there will also be a fire truck, police car, and a few other surprises.

According to Young the Safety Fair is designed for active participation.
