Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) will present a hands-on workshop, “Make a Marketing Map for Your Rural Business,” Tuesday afternoon. The workshop is scheduled from 1:00 until 3:00 at The Sheid at ASU-Mountain Home

During the interactive session, participants will map out a quick action plan to target and reach more customers. Presenter Nicolas Mayerhoeffer of ASBTDC will share specific ideas for boosting sales through marketing and promotions.

In addition, attendees will receive a sample market assessment. The free market assessment report, customizable by city or county, is available through ASBTDC and includes data on customer spending, demographics and other traits.

Laura Fine, ASBTDC state director, says the workshop is geared to helping Arkansas’s small businesses, especially ones in sparsely populated areas, find and attract the customers they need to survive and prosper. This workshop, along with the free market assessment, will highlight opportunities for local businesses to grow their customer base.

While there is no charge to attend, pre-registration is required. Register online at Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center or call (870) 972-3517.

The Arkansas State University ASBTDC, funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the A-State College of Business, serves new, existing and innovation-based businesses in a 16-county area.
