MH boys’ golf team begins state tourney

Football, volleyball, golf and softball make up the local Monday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School boys’ golf team will be in Jonesboro as the Class 6A State Tournament begins its two-day run. The shotgun start is set for 9 a.m. at Jonesboro Country Club.

Mountain Home’s high school volleyball team steps out of district play as they welcome Brookland to the Hangar. The junior varsity match begins at 4:00 followed by the varsity match.
Elsewhere, Flippin hosts Izard County, Yellville-Summit travels to Salem, and Valley Springs entertains Alpena.

Mountain Home will have three football games at Batesville. The first of two seventh grade games will kick off at 5:00, and the high school junior varsity contest will follow.
Mountain Home’s eighth graders will be at Bomber Stadium for a Blue-Gold scrimmage. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00.

The regular season comes to an end for a pair of area high school softball teams. Bakersfield is home against Houston, and Gainesville.
