A traffic stop in Mountain Home led to the arrest of one of its passengers. According to an affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, 38-year-old Veronica Gale of Mountain Home was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Sunday evening on felony counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released less than two hours later after posting a bond of $2,500.

The vehicle was stopped at 7th and College Streets. The driver and front seat passenger are currently on parole with search waivers on file. A search with a canine was conducted, and the dog gave a positive alert on the rear door where Gale was sitting. A pouch containing a glass pipe with white residue, a used syringe and a small white baggie containing .4 grams of suspected methamphetamine were located under Gale’s seat. She refused to answer when asked if the pouch belonged to her and was taken into custody. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Gale is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court later this month.
