Thompson to join Calico Rock Museum Foundation Board

Kristi Thompson, a lifelong resident of Calico Rock, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of trustees of the Calico Rock Museum Foundation. Thompson is the fourth grade literacy and social studies teacher at Calico Rock Elementary School. She and her husband, Patrick, live in the Culp community along with their son, Clayton. Her parents are Leon and Kathy Martin.Thompson will fill the position held by Dean Hudson who, after nine years on the board of trustees, is retiring at the end of this year. Hudson is a founding member of the museum board of trustees and was among the visionaries responsible for creating the museum.

Thompson has been a huge proponent of the Calico Rock Museum, regularly bringing her classes there. She is completing her Masters of Science in Education degree. She is the co-founder and co-coordinator of the Fill-A-Bowl Program at Calico Rock Elementary which provides meals and support for families of school students.

Hudson has been designated a Trustee Emeritus by the board and will be honored for his service to the museum and community at a reception to be held later this Fall. An announcement on the date and details of the reception will be provided later.
