Three area high school softball teams were in district play on Friday.
Dora advanced to the title game of the Class 1, District 2 Tournament at Crocker. The top-seeded Lady Falcons edged out Stoutland 8-7 in the semifinals. Dora improves to 16-10 on the season.
West Plains fell short of a state tournament bid at Logan-Rogersville High School. The Lady Zizzers lost to the host Lady Wildcats 6-1 in the championship game of the Class 3, District 11 Tournament. West Plains’ year comes to an end with a record of 24-5.
Ava finishes the week as champions of the Class 2, District 1 Tournament. The top-seeded Lady Bears squeaked by Mansfield 2-1 at Hartville. Ava is now 13-8, and their first game in the Class 2 State Tournament will be Wednesday as they meet Doniphan.
