Teen Driving ‘Roadeo’ is Saturday

The Teen Driving Rodeo is ready to start its engines Saturday afternoon from 12:30 to 3:00 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in the parking lot behind the hospital. The Families Against Distracted Driving (F.A.D.D.) community event focuses on teens who are just starting to drive. Educational topics include the Graduated Driver Licensing Law (GDL), vehicle maintenance, sharing the road and distracted driving.Michelle Paden, President and Co-Founder of F.A.D.D., says the event is for all ages.

Other sponsors include Allstate Foundation and Arkansas Children’s.

According to Paden, the Graduated Driver’s License has three stages including a supervised learning period, passing a qualified test and obtaining a learner’s permit.

Other topics will cover documentation needed and how to act if pulled over, and information from insurance agents Jay Chafin and Ashley Havens of State Farm.

Registration begins Saturday at 12:30 and the event takes place from 1:00 to 3:00.
