All public high school juniors in Arkansas are provided a free opportunity to take the American Collegiate Test (ACT) as part of the state administration. On a national test day, the fee to take the ACT starts at $46, but fee waivers are available for economically disadvantaged students to take the test at no cost.

The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) reports eligible students can utilize up to two additional fee waivers and qualify for free online test preparation. This gives eligible students three opportunities to take the ACT for free.

Information on eligibility requirements and fee waiver requests were sent to Arkansas’s public high schools during the summer. Juniors and seniors must work with their local high schools to determine eligibiltiy and cannot request a fee waiver directly from ACT.

Registration forms for the December 9th testing date are due November 3rd. Any student interested in the fee waiver program should contact the school’s administration or counselor. The ADE will host an informational webinar on fee waivers and their use October 17th at 10 a.m. The webinar can be accessed at ardoe.adobeconnect.com/assessment2017-2018.
