Mountain Home hosts Marion for Homecoming Friday

Friday marks week seven of Arkansas’s high school football season and Homecoming night for Mountain Home. The Bombers return to the home turf as Marion comes to town.
Mountain Home comes into the game at 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in the 6A-East. The Bombers are coming off a tough four-point loss at Jacksonville. Marion is 2-4 and 1-2. The Patriots fell to Searcy last week.
Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says this week’s matchup is a big game with possible postseason implications.

Activites begin at 4:30 with a tailgate party around the Bomber plane. The Homecoming ceremony at Bomber Stadium will get underway at 6:30.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with Arkansas High School Gameday.
Elsewhere in the 6A-East, Searcy travels to Pine Bluff, Jonesboro hosts West Memphis, and Jacksonville makes the short trip to Little Rock to meet Hall.

Yellville-Summit looks to extend its current win streak to three games. The Panthers will begin a two-game road stand as they face Melbourne.
Yellville-Summit is 2-4 on the year and 2-1 in the 3A-1. The Panthers won their Homecoming game last Friday over Green Forest. Melbourne is 5-1 and 2-1. The Bearkatz suffered their first loss of the season last week at the hands of Clinton.
Kickoff at Bearkatz Stadium is set for 7:00.
Also in the 3A-1, Marshall heads to Greenland, Mountain View travels to Green Forest, and Clinton makes the trip to Elkins.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem heads to Lepanto to play East Poinsett County, and Harrison entertains Greenbrier.
There is one matchup between teams ranked in the Arkansas Associated Press Top Ten this week. Fifth-ranked Bentonville West travels to Springdale to take on number six Har-Ber.
The regular season in Missouri comes to an end this week. Among area schools, West Plains makes the trip to Rolla, Hollister is home against Marshfield, Forsyth hosts Santa Fe, Branson heads to Webb City, Ava travels to Willow Springs, Mountain View-Liberty entertains Houston, and Thayer makes the trip to Mountain Grove.

In high school basketball, the Blue-White Games will be played at Cotter, Viola travels to Bergman for benefit games, the Black-Orange Games will be held at Calico Rock, the Black-Gold Games are set to be played at Timbo, and Valley Springs is home against Western Grove for benefit action.
