Two local public school districts are recent recipients from a local organaization. The Mountain Home Lions Club has donated vision screeners to the Mountain Home and Cotter districts.

Lions Club member Jan Lowery says the screeners are the same quality of screeners found in an eye clinic, but they’re a little smaller.

The retail value of the screeners is approximately $8,200, but through a partnership with Lions Club International and the School Health Corporation, the Mountain Home Lions Club was able to purchase the screeners for just under $7,000. The funds came from the Lions Club’s annual Radio/TV Auction held every November. Lowery says the organization is thankful for the community’s generosity.

The vision screeners will be debuted during Thursday’s session of the Mountain Home School Board. The next Mountain Home Lions Club Radio/TV Auction is scheduled for November 6th through 10th.
