Drugs seized, 3 nabbed in ongoing narcotics investigation

An ongoing narcotics investigation has netted three individuals following the execution of a search warrant at an apartment on Eighth Street in Mountain Home where there have been repeated complaints of drug sales and use.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers have served two previous search warrants at the apartment in the past year.

On Wednesday, officers were contacted by a confidential information who had made an arrangement to purchase a quantity of methamphetamine from another known subject. The informant drove the subject to the Eighth Street apartment of 33-year-old Linda R. Jones where the buy was conducted.

On Thursday, executing a search warrant at the apartment, Mountain Home Police Officers found Jones, 22-year-old Jared Coddington of Thornfield, and 25-year-old Matt Williams of Mountain Home in the back bedroom area of the apartment. Williams tried unsuccessfully to hide from officers.

During the search, officers found a quantity of methamphetamine, multiple sets of digital scales, hundreds of new small baggies, smoking devices, loaded and used syringes, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, and other items used for the distribution of narcotics.

Multiple cell phones were located in the bedroom. Messages continued to be received on the phones from individuals seeking to purchase or trade narcotics to Jones or Coddington. The loaded pistol was located on top of a nightstand next to the bed, within reach of Jones and Coddington.

The apartment is located within 1,000 feet of a daycare, a men’s shelter, and a church, as well as a designated school bus stop in front of the apartment complex.   

Jones and Coddington have been charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia for use of distributing narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia for use of ingesting narcotics, and maintaining a drug premises.

Jones also faces a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of proximity to certain facilities. Coddington faces one felony charge of proximity to certain facilities.

Bond for Jones is set at $30,000, while bond for Coddington is set at $25,000.

Matt Williams has a no bond felony warrant from Marion County. He was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center awaiting transport to Marion County.
