Parole compliance visit nets two arrests

A parole compliance visit has resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Hannah Miller and 31-year-old Justin Avers of Mountain Home on drug related charges. Miller is on parole from drug charges related to a case in 2016. Avers is on probation from drug paraphernalia charges in 2016. Both are being held without bond in the Baxter County Detention Center.According to the arrest affidavit in the case, Arkansas Department of Community Correction officers went to the pairs’ residence, located at 134 Bellwood Lane, for a parolee compliance visit. A search of the premises found numerous items of drug paraphernalia including glass pipes, containing methamphetamine residue, used syringes, and used plastic baggies containing methamphetamine residue. The report says all of the items indicated point to extensive methamphetamine use.

Officers also found a .22 caliber rifle. Both Miller and Avers are convicted felons and neither are allowed to possess a firearm.

Both Miller and Avers were charged with felony possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court at a later date.
