RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ An Arkansas man is facing sentencing after being convicted of capital murder in the 2016 shooting deaths of two men.

Tyler Barefield was convicted Wednesday in the deaths of the two 22-year-old victims: Aaron Brock and Beau DeWitt. Both men were fatally shot, and their bodies were found crushed inside a vehicle at salvage yard owned by Barefield’s family in Russellville.

The 36-year-old Barefield is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.

Surveillance footage shows Barefield at the scrapyard that he co-owns with his family carrying a rifle and other gear the night of the shootings. However, no DNA evidence connecting Barefield to the deaths was presented in court.

Barefield told an investigator he crushed the car in which the two men were found, but that he didn’t know they were inside.
