The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public a registered sex offender has moved out of Baxter County.Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says 49-year-old Sheri Ellis, who had been residing at 10453 Highway 14 East in Big Flat, has moved to a residence in Marshall.

Ellis was convicted of sexual abuse in the first degree in May 2005. Documentation indicates the offense involved Ellis engaging in sexual contact with a minor female between the ages of 11 through 14, which was not reported until several years after the offense occurred.

Montgomery says community notification is justified due to the young age of the victim at the time the offense occurred.

Ellis has been assigned a risk level as a level two sex offender, with a moderate risk to offend, by the Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment. She was not wanted by law enforcement during the time she resided in Baxter County.
