Mountain Home native, 12-year-old Mica Kirby, has spent nearly her entire life pursuing her passion of dancing. Kirby’s hard work has provided her the opportunity of a lifetime.Erric Totty has this report.
A letter dated October 23, signed by Kristen Pittman, USA Dance Company Head Coach and Director and Owner of Rock City Dance Center in Little Rock, says Kirby was chosen as part of a team to represent the United States at the World Dance Championships in Poland this December.
Kirby, who has been dancing since she was 3-years-old, says she was enthusiastic to try out for the team and excited to learn she had been chosen.

The International Dance Organization (IDO) is hosting the 17th edition of the event to be held in Rawa Mazowiecka, a town near Warsaw, on December 2nd through the 10th. The IDO is a World Federation with a membership of over 90 nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents.
Kirby says she has put a lot of hard work into her dancing over the years and is at the dance studio she attends in Fayetteville seven days a week.

Kirby says she is selling tickets to help sponsor her trip to Poland.
The 2017 USA Dance showcase and sendoff will be Wednesday evening, November 29th at the University of Arkansas Little Rock Performing Arts Auditorium in Little Rock from 6:00 to 8:00.
There will be a send off at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock. A blog will begin when the dance team departs which can be followed during the entire competition.
