Two vehicle accident injures Theodosia man

A Two vehicle accident in Taney County Tuesday morning has sent a Theodosia man, 54-year-old Donald W. Parker, to the hospital with moderate injuries. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Parker was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 160, four miles west of Rueter, when his vehicle came across a garbage truck, also in the westbound lane, at a standstill. U.S. Highway 160 in Taney County is a two-lane highway.Parker attempted to stop his vehicle, however it was unable to stop completely and it collided with the rear end of the garbage truck. His vehicle was totaled and he was transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson. A hospital spokesperson says he was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon. The garbage truck sustained minor damage and the driver of that vehicle was uninjured.

Both Parker and the driver of the garbage truck were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the 8:21 a.m. accident.
