In the almost five years that Canda Reese has served as Baxter County and Circuit Clerk, her office has received just under $120,000 in grant funding, with the lastest of four awards coming in October for $24,000.

Reese says the grant funds were awarded through the Arkansas Circuit Court’s Automated Records System and will be used to digitize county records.

Reese says the first year she was in office in 2013, she and her staff were able to secure their first grant to scan their aperture cards, the most recent records predating the computer system, running from 1995 back to 1981.

The second grant allowed for updating the office recording software system to accommodate the expanded record changes.

In addition to the three grants for record enhancements, the office of the county and circuit clerk received a fourth grant for voting systems for election equipment.
