In the past, the Thanksgiving holiday has been followed by what is known as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. For the first time, the Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation is taking part in #GivingTuesday this year as its Lend-A-Hand Open House will be held Tuesday from 11:00 to 1:00 at its four community houses.

Giving Tuesday has followed Thanksgiving over the last six years. It’s a day for the community to give back after shopping for the holidays.

Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation Director of Development Cindy Costa says all donations for the Lend-A-Hand Campaign will benefit the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging, the Peitz Cancer Support House, the Reppell Diabetes Learning Center, and the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education.

BRMC is inviting the local community to donate to the campaign for Giving Tuesday by mail or online at baxterregional.org. Costa says the public will also be invited during the open house to tour the community houses.

Costa goes on to add one of the main benefits of giving is knowing thousands of individuals and their families are assisted by the community houses and the free services they provide.

The Lend-A-Hand Campaign will continue through the remainder of the year, but an anonymous donor has agreed to a matching donation for proceeds collected Tuesday up to $50,000.  For more information on the Lend-A-Hand Campaign, contact Costa at 870-508-1779 or ccosta@baxterregional.org
