MHHS basketball teams to compete in tournament semis Friday

Friday’s basketball schedule includes both of Mountain Home’s high school teams continuing tournament action.

The Bomber boys are in Van Buren as the Citizens Bank Tournament resumes. Mountain Home will compete in the semifinals against Cabot.
The Bombers are currently 2-2 on the season after beating Van Buren’s junior varsity squad on Thursday. The Panthers’ first round game was a win over Subiaco Academy.
Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

The Mountain Home girls will also be in semifinal action as they continue the Lady Eagle Invitational Tournament at Greene County Tech High School in Paragould. The Lady Bombers will be paired with Little Rock Christian.
Mountain Home improved to 2-2 Thursday when they defeated the defending Class 6A state champions from Marion in the first round. The Lady Warriors’ first game in the tournament was a victory over Paragould.

In other high school basketball, Cotter travels to Brockwell to meet Izard County, Norfork makes the trip to Viola, Flippin hosts Yellville-Summit, Bruno-Pyatt entertains South Side-Bee Branch, Gainesville’s boys head to Bradleyville, Salem plays at Mammoth Spring, Calico Rock travels to Marshall, St. Joe makes the trip to Oark, Mountain View is home against Rose Bud, Lead Hill hosts Kingston for Homecoming, Bergman heads to Hector, and Valley Springs will take part in the annual Mini-State Tournament at Drew Central High School in Monticello.
