Christopher Mann, who was recently caught in the act as he tried to steal fuel from the truck of men who were hunting in the woods, was given three years’ probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the men had parked the truck in an area north of Mountain Home to head into the woods. When they returned, they found the 33-year-old Mann under the truck where he had drilled a hole in the gas tank and was stealing fuel.

The armed hunters held Mann until a deputy arrived to take charge of the scene. Mann was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.

It was announced in court, damage to the truck had not been completely tabulated as yet, but Mann will be required to pay the victim restitution for any damage he caused to the vehicle.
