MH boys among high school basketball teams in tournament play Wednesday

High school basketball makes up the local Wednesday schedule as Mountain Home’s boys will start another tournament. The Bombers will play their second consecutive game against Van Buren to begin the Cyclone Classic at Russellville.
Mountain Home is currently 2-4 on the season. The Bombers fell to Van Buren Saturday in the third place game of the Citizens Bank Tournament hosted by the Pointers.
Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

A few local teams will be in Mammoth Spring as the inaugural Battle of the Border Tournament continues. In girls’ action, Calico Rock tips off at 4:30 against Koshkonong, and Gainesville meets Couch at 7:00. On the boys’ side, Cotter faces Koshkonong at 5:45, and Calico Rock takes on Mountain View-Liberty at 8:15.

Three area teams will head to Batesville as the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament resumes in the Becknell Gymnasium. In the boys’ games, Mountain View plays Highland at 5:15, and Izard County meets Cave City at 7:45. The Izard County girls take on Southside Batesville at 6:30.
