NFL fines Seattle Seahawks $100,000 for handling of Russell Wilson concussion examination

According to the league, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was directed to the sideline for an evaluation by referee Walt Anderson during the team’s November 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals. A review determined that the evaluation was not conducted and Wilson was permitted to return to the game.

The team accepted the league’s findings, saying simply, “we did not knowingly disregard the Concussion Protocol. Any misstep was unintentional and the result of confusion on the sideline.”
