MH to host 1st Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament

High school basketball makes up the local schedule as one of the Twin Lakes Area’s biggest holiday events begins its three-day run. Mountain Home will host the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament at Bomber Gymnasium.
The Mountain Home boys’ first opponent will be Rose Bud. The Bombers come into the tournament with a record of 3-8 after picking up a two-point win Friday over Russellville. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Also on the boys’ bracket, Batesville and Watson Chapel get underway at 10:00, Farmington meets Hamburg at 1:00, and Paragould faces Brinkley at 4:00.
Mountain Home’s girls will also be paired with Rose Bud on the final game of the day. The Lady Bombers are currently 6-5 on the season with their victory over Russellville five nights ago. Gametime is set for 8:30.
In the earlier girls’ games, Norfork takes on Watson Chapel at 11:30, Paragould plays Farmington at 2:30, and Highland meets North Little Rock at 5:30.

Gainesville’s girls will continue action in the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will be matched up in the quarterfinals with Mansfield at 6:00.

Two area boys’ teams will take part in the quarterfinals of the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Gainesville faces Thayer at 3:00, and Dora takes on Winona at 6:00.

The Melbourne boys will travel to Highland for their first game in the Ronnie Brogdon Christmas Classic. The Bearkatz will play Manila at 5:00 at the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center.
