While one Izard County deputy was responding to a breaking and entering incident in Pineville December 17th, a second officer was responding to a traffic accident on Highway 177.

Izard County Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley says the deputy at the scene of the breaking and entering at Watson’s Station determined several cartons of cigarettes were taken when the business was broken into.

At the scene of the accident, the second deputy found several cartons of cigarettes in the wrecked vehicle. Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Mitchell C. Pool of Dolph, was arrested and charged with a felony count of commercial burglary, as well as a misdemeanor count of theft of property.

Pool was taken to the Izard County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in circuit court in January.
