A level 2 sex offender, 39-year-old Damion Jackson McBride, was arrested Wednesday and charged with failure to comply with registration requirements after deputies discovered he was not living or staying at his stated place of residence. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond for failure to comply with sex offender registration and held without bond for felony parole violation.According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, a deputy went to the address McBride registered with the Sheriff’s Department, at 26 McBride Lane, northwest of Briarcliff, in order to serve a subpoena on him. McBride was not found at the location and neighbors told the deputy he was living at 4712 Highway 5 South in a mobile home with his girlfriend.

The deputy went to that residence and made contact with the girlfriend. She confirmed McBride was living there. The deputy noticed a small blue pickup truck arriving at the address and saw McBride was a passenger. The deputy stopped the vehicle and took him into custody.

Officers with Arkansas Department of Community Corrections were also at the scene and assisted with his apprehension.

McBride is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
